I tend to have a lot of guilty pleasures. Award shows being one of them. So it’s fair to say I was a pretty happy girl last night.
Here are some of my favorite looks of the night. As you can see I was loving the black.
Emma Watson looking fantastic in metallic Vera Wang. I just keep loving this dress more and more.
It was the small details that separated the sea of fabulous black on the red carpet this year and made these two dresses stand out to me.
Anna Kendrick in J Mendel and Julia Roberts in a lace Givenchy Couture gown edged out the competition.
And now my favorite non-red carpet dress. Leselie Mann brightening up the Vanity Fair party in Jenny Packham.
I can’t believe it’s been a year since I started this blog. Part of me feels like it was soooooo long ago and then again I still feel like I’m working on my “fresh start”.
It’s been a year filled with highs and lows……loves and losses……boredom and brilliance.
I started this blog as a creative outlet. In some ways I think it’s come a long way, others not so much. But it’s still acting as a place where I can just be my random self…..and that was the whole point.
Love it or hate it, I’m just being Miley. (well, Michaela)
Here’s to another year of my randomness.
And now it’s only fitting to end this post the way I started this blog. With some early Sephora B-day treats.
Because some things never change……and I don’t want them to.
High Low Maintenance turned 1 today!
I developed a legit obsession with washi tape. So much so that I recently incorporated some in to my decorating and put a few out on my desk. I mean seriously, they are too cute to hid in a box.
There’s so much you can do with this colorful, easy to use and easy to remove sticky paper tape. I’m not even embarrassed getting so excited over a roll of tape!
Personally my favorite brand is mt. Their tape seems to stay put and comes in a variety of colors. I love the cool patterns that Scotch’s versions offer but the quality of the tape just isn’t the same.
Look out for some upcoming washi projects from yours truly.
Gold painted animal figurines seem to be popping up all over some of my favorite blogs recently, so I decided to try this easy little DIY project out for myself. I found this cute dodo bird and moose on amazon to use as my non- guinea “guinea pigs”. They make a fun and cheep way to change things up a bit around your space. Here are my takes on this trend.
And check out my blogger spirit animal Martha’s Worst Nightmare’s take on it while you’re at it.
I was told once that I am “better online”. I took that as a compliment. So many times the intended emotion is lost in emails, texts, social media postings. You feel the need to add a “ha ha ha” to show that you are joking. Which totally takes away from it actually being funny. So much is done online or on a phone now that I’m totally ok with being good at communicating that way.
I’m on my iPhone way to much. It’s become an extension of me and I want it to reflect my personality. Lately I’ve been switching up the wallpaper to change things up a bit. It’s a lot easier and cheeper than getting a new case.
These are a few in my current rotation.
What’s in the box??????
So I treated myself to a few presents last week and they’ve finally arrived!!!!!
*Mean and Lean in 2014
I’ve been wanting to get some sort of fitness tracker thing for a while now but haven’t really wanted to shell out the $$$. Also, let’s be honest, I needed to find a cute one. I stumbled across this fitbit tracker in a store the other day and loved that you can change up the color of the band (it’s pretty much just a holder for the device). then when I saw it had a sleep tracker and silent alarm, I was sold.
*You go, Glenn Coco!
I saw a Buzzfeed post recently stating that Mean Girls is turning 10!!! WTF? I feel old. Lohan at her best was 10 years ago?
Sometimes a movie just sticks with you. You can watch it over and over again and it never gets old. Mean Girls is one of those movies for me. I find myself quoting it more than I should. “Boo, you whore” is my go to response to things I don’t like.
So when I saw this mug on ETSY (by The Little Vinylsaur) it was a no-brainer that I need it in my life.
That’s all…….Happy hump day kids.
Coming home to flowers from my all-time number one valentine can make a long, slushy week instantly better. Thanks Daddy. You’ve set the bar pretty darn high.
I think because it’s been so cold and snowy lately I have been trying to do anything to fast forward to warmer weather……. even early “spring cleaning”.
Picked up a few products by Method last week and I’m already hooked. Stylish cleaning supplies that are free of “dirty” ingredients. No brainer.
These cute products are free of the harsh chemicals that cause stinging eyes, burning lungs and headaches. And they smell a thousand time better than that generic lemon cleaner smell in some cleaning supplies.
Getting my nerd on cleaning and organizing has never smelled or looked so good.
I have always felt “The Best Is Yet To Come”……. So why not be reminded of that every day.
I picked up this cute little journal last week at one of my favorite stores, Paper Source. I can never seem to come out of there with out spending at least 50 bucks. I guess it’s kinda like the “Target grand”.
I’m all about being inspired in 2014 and this is a perfect place to write down ideas, dreams and inspirations.
